PTPP Gathers Convalescent Plasma Donors in the Project Environment
PT PP (Persero) Tbk, one of the leading, largest, and leading construction and investment companies in Indonesia (“PTPP”) carries out red blood donation and convalescent plasma donor activities. This was done by PTPP to support and participate in Government programs to help deal with the Covid-19 pandemic. The donor activity was carried out for 2 (two) days starting from July 29-30, 2021, which was located at the Kalibaru Container Port Project, Tanjung Priok, Jakarta. In this activity, PTPP through the Company's Covid-19 Handling Task Force Team collaborated with the Indonesian Red Cross (“PMI”), DKI Jakarta Blood Donor Unit.
The red blood donor and convalescent donor activities were held by implementing the Covid-19 health protocol strictly. In this activity, there were at least 46 (forty six) Covid-19 survivors from employees, workers, and owners of the Kalibaru Container Port Project who were very enthusiastic to screen the convalescent plasma donors to help others. The event was also attended by Nurlistyo Hadi as SVP of QHSE & Management Systems as well as Chair of the Covid-19 Handling Task Force, Pande Ketut as SVP of Infrastructure Division 2, and Nawang Sri Retno as SVP of Risk Management and Legal PTPP.
Convalescent Plasma is blood plasma taken from Covid-19 patients who have recovered and then processed before being given to Covid-19 patients or sufferers. So, convalescent plasma donors are blood donors from Covid-19 survivors to help patients or other patients who have not recovered from Covid-19. With this convalescent plasma donor, it can save human lives and assist the Government in improving the national economy. The red blood donor and convalescent plasma donor activities carried out by this company are one of the company's efforts in providing support to the community who are struggling against the Covid-19 infection.
This convalescent plasma donor activity is PTPP's first donor activity which is held as one of a series of events to commemorate PTPP's 68th Anniversary which falls in August. PTPP is also planning the donor activities to be carried out at the Head Office as well as in the company's working areas. We hope that the activities currently being carried out at the Kalibaru Container Port Project can be used as an example for implementation in other places. The increasing number of positive cases of Covid-19 accompanied by the increasing number of requests for convalescent plasma in Indonesia has moved PTPP to take part in helping the Government and the community who need the plasma. By carrying out this activity regularly in the future, we hope to be able to help meet the stock of convalescent plasma needs.
